About Judy

Flower Power Fairs enters the 20th year of running small, specialist plant fairs held in the North of England.  When I started up I never really thought it would be going for so long, and with such success.  I’ve made some lifelong friends, tackled a few “prickly pears” and visited some incredible private houses and gardens.

6 years ago I lost Mike, my husband.  He was my best friend, best supporter and best critic and encouraged me to set the business up, and indeed, it was Mike who chose the name of Flower Power Fairs.  It’s been hard without him but I was determined to show myself that I could do it, alone.

As we approach the gardening season, my enthusiasm and love of gardens and plants continues.  When not working on the fairs, I travel the length and breadth of the UK visiting incredible gardens.  Great excuse to appreciate the work of others.

The first plant fair of 2026 will be Newburgh Priory, a magnificent estate not very far from the popular market town of Thirsk where James Herriot worked as a vet.

I hope to see you at one of the wonderful locations that I have chosen over the years, come along and enjoy the beautiful gardens, explore, buy some unusual plants and just have a great day out.  This isn’t just a plant fair, it’s an experience!  And with most of the venues, I can guarantee a good cuppa and excellent cake.
